A New 'Do

Someone got quite the haircut last week
DSC_1797
Although Labs don't typically get haircuts, we went ahead and got Harper shaven for the summer. He's outside so much, and at the beach, so we figured this would be much cooler for him. Other added bonuses are that he sheds less and dries off faster when he gets wet! It looks kinda goofy on him, but I think he's really glad we did it!

he kinda looks sad in these pics, and its probably because i made him stop playing so that i could do this photo shoot. i'd be sad too! haha

Memorial Moments

We had a fantastic Memorial weekend at the beach. The entire family was there and the weather held up quite nicely despite original reports of it raining every day! Per usual family beach weekends, time seemed to be told based on when it was time for the next fantastic meal. In addition, Bennett, his Baby Einstein DVD, the pool, and a 1,000 piece puzzle that I got at AL's (& we actually finished it, too) seemed to keep us all nice and entertained!

A weekend spent with Mothers

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. We sure did, making sure to spend time with each of the special mommy's in our lives.
.
My Friday started with our annual "Girls Weekend" that my sisters, momma, and I do every year. We used to go places like Atlanta or Birmingham for the weekend, but now we spend 1 night on the good ole Eastern Shore shopping, playing, visiting, dining, wining (as in drinking wine), and just enjoying our girl time together. We didn't take any pictures this year, but here are some from years past...

Momma was so selfless to take her girls shopping on mother's day weekend, and really the goal is always to spend time together, catching up on life and having a good time. After lunch Saturday, we all went our separate ways. Later that evening, Ben and I headed down to his parents' beach house to see his family, visit, and spend time with his mommy. Sunday, Ben boiled shrimp with his mommy, I laid out on the dock and soaked up the sun on such a BEAUTIFUL day, & then we all got lunch together and enjoyed a great meal before heading back home.
I enjoyed spending time with my only baby on Mother's Day as well.

Ben and I both love and appreciate our mommy's for all that they have done for us, for raising us and our brothers and sisters, and for being such wonderful role models for the good parents we hope to be one day! I hope all you had a wonderful Mother's day out there (even if you are only the mother to, say, a rambunctious 16 month old puppy, like me)!
