this & that

What else have we been doing recently to cause me to not blog from Emory's birth until recently? Well...

Ben & I went to the Alabama vs. Florida game several weekends ago...

We've been watching all the AUBURN football games from home & I'm so excited to see them ranked #1! WAR EAGLE!

I have continued searching & interviewing for new jobs but still haven't found anything.

A little while back before I hosted Bible Study at my house, I created a new little sitting area in a blank space of the den.  The only thing I had to purchase was the lamp shade from Pottery Barn.... everything else I either already had or was in Ben's parent's storage room not being used:

I have started working out (goal= every week day) and I'm back on a low-carb diet.  This is the best way I know to eat healthily & it works for me.  So far I have lost 10.5 pounds and hope to keep it up!

I have joined Jr. League this year, so we have a lot of meetings (3 per month) and will be doing some community projects soon.  It's time consuming but a great opportunity to meet people & do some volunteer work, which I have been missing for a while now.

We have been trying to see these angels (as well as Leigh) as much as possible:

made easier by several Sunday lunches we have all eaten over at my parent's house recently:

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I have been wearing my pink ribbon pin that Ben's mom (a 3x Breast Cancer survivor) gave me as much as possible in honor of all those fighters who beat the disease & all those who have lost their battles.  Click to HELP at the Breast Cancer Site!
And we have some exciting things on the horizon... should be a busy next couple months/Holiday season.  If only I could find a job, things would really all be in place :)

Halloween to the Max

I don't typically decorate much for Halloween or really the Fall/Thanksgiving. I prefer to go all out for CHRISTMAS! But it was my turn to host Supper Club at my house for the 1st time ever Thursday night and it's October so I had to get festive & all decorated! It was a lot of work but I enjoyed the end result!

My front porch (this was actually the one thing I ran out of time on... finishing the door & couldn't find a hay bale, but it will do!)

This is my sister-in-law Amy's Halloween Tree that I borrowed for the party! It's adorable...

Supper Club was a lot of fun & it's always a good motivator to fix things up when you invite people over to your house!

HAPPY HALLOWEENY TIME!

Wedding & Polo

Last weekend was quite the whirlwind that we had been anticipating for a while.  Ben's great friend Brent became engaged to Meridith about a year and a half ago, so we have been looking forward to seeing them get married ever since.  We were Jacksonville bound on Thursday afternoon (& didn't arrive until 1 am)!

Friday the boys played golf before we all got together for the Rehearsal dinner that night.

After the rehearsal dinner, a big group of us walked from our hotel to The Jacksonville Landing bars!

It is always a fun time when all these guys from college get together!  We ended up at some sort of Country Western line dancing bar where people knew which dance went with each song (so I didn't even attempt stepping foot on the dance floor!)

Saturday Ben had to get ready for the wedding much earlier than I did.... doesn't he look handsome?

I had a lot of downtime at the hotel, but look at this view! I think Jacksonville is a beautiful city!

Saturday night was Brent & Meridith's beautiful & FUN wedding!

Meridith's 1st dress was her mother's & her 2nd dress was her grandmother's. It was amazing to see pictures of the original dresses & how she got them chopped & changed & altered to fit her & today's styles. I especially loved her party dress!

(I was so disappointed not to have my "real" camera with me for all these events. It's frustrating sometimes to learn to use my other camera & it's inadequacies when I'm so used to my big camera!)

We wish them all the best for a blessed marriage & can't wait to see all our friends again soon! 3 more of Ben's college friends/groomsmen are engaged & getting married in 2011 so it certainly won't be too long!

We had to get up at 4:30 AM Sunday morning to drive the 6 hour drive back home in order to make it to an event that Ben's work was sponsoring. Polo at the Point is a fun event that we went to last year too, but after a long night at the wedding and a long drive, we were definitely exhausted this year. That's ok, at least the weather was beautiful (last year it was pretty chilly), we put our smiles on & shook hands before we went home & took LONG naps!

I have felt like I've been in "recovery mode" all week after our busy weekend!!!
