Bama vs. Arkansas

This past Saturday Ben & I went up to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama vs. Arkansas game.  Ben's parents  and Will & Amy were up there as well, and we got to see Adam who is up at school at the University of Alabama.  Despite rain showers right before the game, we made it into the game without getting wet and everyone was able to enjoy the game dry!

After the game was over (and Alabama pulled out a win) we stayed around the stadium for a while and this is what the stadium looks like nearly empty:

Our great friends Austin & Stephanie were incredibly helpful & kept Harper for us overnight (thanks y'all!). Sunday we ran by to pick him up and grabbed a bite to eat for lunch with them as well.  I convinced Ben to go to the grocery store with me (which he hates doing) and we stocked up on  groceries for the week, so it looks like I'm back in the kitchen cooking dinner instead of going out to dinner this week! :)

Back on the Plains

This past weekend, Ben's friends were all getting together for a little mini reunion in AUBURN for the Auburn vs. West Virginia game. Before going there on Saturday, we decided to go see Ben's grandparents on Friday night. They live less than 45 minutes away from Auburn and we wanted to go for a visit.

We arrived at Grandmother & Granddaddy's house at 10pm (their time zone) to a full spread dinner of fried chicken, creamed corn, fried okra, peas, rolls, & then pound cake for dessert! THEN we stayed up until past 1:30 am just talking and visiting with them. We just have the best time when we go visit them and wish we could have stayed longer!!!

Saturday morning, after a delicious breakfast of course, we said goodbye and headed to AUBURN! This is the 1st game I had been back for since I graduated over 3 years ago and Ben over 2 years ago. We went to a tailgate in the ampitheatre with a bunch of Ben's guy friends around noon before the game was to start at 7pm.

We got to the game early to see the eagle fly, but it started POURING down rain! After about a 30 minute rain delay, the game was finally ready to start. It sprinkled a little bit more but turned out to be a great game!IMG_0104

Auburn pulled out the win vs. WVU and we had such a good time. Ben was a great sport & I was glad he supported my game (he even wore a blue shirt!!) :)IMG_0114
Overall, a great weekend being reunited with most of Ben's friends from college. I got to see a few friends of mine, too; Kate, one of my bridesmaids whom I haven't seen since my wedding, some other pledge sisters, such as Alex who is expecting a baby in January, & Erica a great friend from high school, and friends I haven't seen since I graduated. The campus has changed so much since we were last there and it made me miss Auburn so much! WAR EAGLE!

Destination: Charleston

Oh how I love traveling so! My cousin Derek got married this past weekend in beautiful Charleston, SC so we headed out on Thursday and enjoyed the city for 4 wonderful days with the whole family! I had only been to Charleston once (for Amy's Bachelorette party back in February, as you can see here) but the rest of my immediate family had never been. This time I saw less the insides of bars, and more the sights of the city!
.
Thursday, Momma, Daddy, Natalie, Stephen, Bennett, Ben, and I took a horse drawn carriage ride through the city; hearing all about the architecture, history, and seeing everything down to the waterfront.

That night we met up with more estended family in town at an incredible restaurant called COAST. I think this was some of the best fresh seafood most of us had enjoyed in a while (even living on the Gulf Coast like we do) and refreshing Peach Mojitos!
.
Friday morning, we all met my cousins Summer, Justin, Blake, & Sutton at the South Carolina Aquarium to check out what they had to offer.

Then we went to lunch overlooking this awesome bridge and waterfront.

Friday night was the Rehearsal dinner on the rooftop of a restaurant called The Harbour Club. The weather was actually perfect and we had a great time into the evening.

A fun mode of transportation in Charleston is called a Rickshaw or PedalCab which is basically a bike taxi for 2 people which Ben and I took back from the bar to the hotel that night.

The wedding on Saturday was at a beautiful old home called the Wickliffe House. The ceremony took place outside as you see here below and the reception was inside.

It was SUCH a fun vacation and wedding long weekend. We had a great time seeing all of our family and celebrating with Derek and Crystal. Charleston was the perfect setting for your Destination Wedding and we loved celebrating with you! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and a Blessed marriage!
