I updated my sister's blog earlier today as soon as she was born, so you can visit there for some other pictures! There will be more to come soon...

loving...

Things I'm loving right now:

Our Bible Study book

As my friend Lydia calls it, this book is "Bio de Jesus"... studying the book of Luke from the very beginning & everything about Jesus from before his birth that I never knew before.  I love the way Beth Moore makes everything so easy to understand and I love the girls in my group & how we fellowship together.

CALDREA for Target

I previously had purchased some Caldrea soap & lotion items for my guest bathroom and absolutely love the beautiful scents & metal holders they come in.  Then one day I was in Target & saw that they are now carrying the brand for less! I got this three-some for my kitchen (counter top spray, hand soap, & dish soap) in the Citron Ginger scent & am equally in LOVE!  The counter top spray leaves my kitchen smelling delish.

RED BOX

Since I am at home a lot, I have been extremely bored with daytime television.  The Walgreens down the street from our house recently got a Red Box & I can't help but find the excuse to rent a movie when it's only $1!!  Renting a movie from Blockbuster (still have to drive there) or off the DVR on our cable box is at least $5.99 so I'll take $1 over that any day!

Football Season

There's just something about it... Saturday cookouts with friends (like we have done the past 2 weekends), going to games, the competition, knowing that it's about to be fall, watching GameDay with Ben, reminiscing about the college days... I just love everything about football season and am so glad it's here!  Even though we may be a house divided; so far, thank goodness, both of our teams are winning and we typically don't have any problem getting along throughout the year :)

my new vacuum

Our old college vacuum had finally bitten the dust & pretty much didn't function anymore so it was time to get a new one.  I never though something like a vacuum cleaner would excite me but I'm always excited about new gadgets & machines!  This baby works so well I think I'll actually use it every now & then instead of letting Ben handle the vacuuming all the time.

iPod Touch

I FINALLY downloaded songs to my iPod Touch for the 1st time since Ben gave it to me for my Birthday last January.  I will admit I'm not a huge music person, but it is kinda the point of having an ipod to put music on it.  I had been using Pandora radio when I went to workout but now I can actually listen to what I want, even when I don't have internet available.  I also love this iTouch because I download kids apps & let Bennett play with it.  They are really quite educational (puzzles, animal sounds, making cookies, Spongebob, piano, etc) & he is constantly asking for my "blue phone."

EMORY

I am most of all LOVING the fact that right now I am at the hospital waiting for my new niece to be born.  Today is the day!!!!  We can't wait to meet her & see those blanks filled in on the dry erase board.  My next post will be filled with snuggly squishy precious newborn baby pictures!  I will be updating my sister's blog too as soon as she is born.

Ready for Emory

I cannot wait for our new niece Emory to be here in just a matter of weeks!  Some say that people don't have Baby Showers for 2nd babies, but I decided to put together a little Baby Shower/ Family Dinner for Natalie & Stephen just to celebrate her impending arrival & get her some cute girlie things!

We gathered last Thursday at a great newish restaurant in town, Cortlandt's, & brought our own decor for the table (my momma did the flowers & I did the "name lollipops" sticking out of the vases).

I forgot my "real" camera, so the point & shoot had to do for the evening.
PINK & girly cute things were in abundance :)

Alabama Road Tripping

We had quite the weekend traveling all over the state of Alabama.

Thursday PM:  Phenix City, AL
We traveled to Ben's Grandmother's where we had the usual delicious meal, caught the last half of the Auburn/MS State game, and wonderful conversation before going to bed.

Friday AM: Montgomery, AL
Ben worked in Montgomery while I visited, ran errands, & shopped with grandmother.

Friday PM: Birmingham, AL
When Ben finished work, he came & picked me up, we told grandmother bye & drove to Birmingham.  We stayed at the Wynfrey Hotel & decided to go on "date night" since we have been so incredibly busy lately & feel like we haven't had any quality time together.  We went to a delicious steak house at the hotel called "Shula's".  It was such a treat &amp! Lobster Bisque, Lettuce Wedge salad, a bottle of wine, Filet's, double baked potato, & broccoli.... I can't even remember the last time I ordered a steak at a restaurant.

Saturday AM: REUNION
2 of my best friends from college at Auburn, Molly & Caroline, live in Birmingham & came to visit me while I was in town.  Since the hotel is attached to the mall, they met me at the food court & we grabbed lunch together.  Ben & I didn't have very long before we had to leave town & found that we could have sat there and talked for hours and hours if we had the chance.  I miss y'all so much & am so glad we got to reunite!

Saturday PM: Tuscaloosa, AL
That afternoon we headed to Tuscaloosa for the University of Alabama football game vs. Penn State.

Ben's Family was there too & this was Leigh's 1st football game (at 8 months old)!  She looked adorable & did great the whole night (and Alabama won).

the new 'do!

hair

About 4 inches gone!  I haven't had my hair this short since before we got married.  I didn't intend to get my hair this short either, but I'm really enjoying it!

Compare & Contrast

LABOR DAY WEEKEND
(as told by the pictures we took)

I was here:

Ben was here:

I spent a lot of time with this little guy, taking him swimming, babysitting while his parents went on a date, & just laughing:

Ben was with these fun guys (a total of 11 guys) for Brent's (top Left) Bachelor Party in Vegas:

I got up at 8 am to go with Natalie & Bennett (& The Schwant's) to the ZOO:

Ben stayed in a suite at the Bellagio, had their own sightseeing adventures, gambled (& won money!), enjoyed a cabana at the pool, who knows what other craziness they got into:
IMG00017

After lunch one day, I enjoyed a nice strawberry daiquiri with fresh peaches while I laid out in the sun reading Eat, Pray, Love:
& about that same time I get this text message picture from Ben of mimosas that said "breakfast":

We definitely had very different weekends, but I'm pretty sure we both had fun times.  I know Ben was exhausted after his long weekend & glad to be home, while I was nice & relaxed after leisurely lounging around the beach with my family.  I sure did miss him being gone so long though.  Next time we're going to Vegas together!  :)
