30 weeks and catching up

I know I know, not posting since 25 weeks is kinda too long... especially when I look back at my 25 weeks belly picture and see how much I/Wells have grown! SO let me play catchup a bit now that we are 30 weeks along!

First of all a follow up on Ben & his ankle- after 2 weeks in a splint cast, he was put in a hard cast and still on crutches for 2 weeks, then he got that cast off and got a walking boot for 2 weeks but still couldn't walk on it and was on crutches.  Then last Thursday he got to lose the crutches and he is walking on his boot these days.  Getting around is still difficult so he has used the electronic wheelchair at the grocery store a few times... I SO wish I had a picture of it.  Slowly but surely he will gain his strength and mobility back but not being on crutches anymore is a HUGE difference and he is feeling much better!

A few hours after my last post, Ben's paternal grandmother passed away after being sick for a little bit of time.  As she said, it was time to be "called back home" and we went up to Athens, AL, her hometown, to lay her to rest.  She and granddaddy were married for 64 years and had an incredible and full life together.  We will miss her but know she is pain free and happy now.  Ben was still in a cast at this point so using his grandfather's extra wheelchair to get around town was much easier than crutches.
We got to see our sweet friends Andrea & Mac while we were in town and they joined us for dinner.
We got the nursery painted the next week and I am really loving the color but don't quite have everything together yet (bedding should be ready soon and if I would go ahead and buy drapery rods we could have the drapes hung too!) so I don't have more pictures of the nursery to share yet than this sneak peak:
I also got my monogramming session and have been getting plenty of practice by putting Wells' name or initials on the few things I have for him already (clockwise: a washcloth with embroidery, a bib, a onesie, & a diaper cover).  I am absolutely in love with seeing his name in print and am enjoying my new hobby :)
We helped welcome Caroline Ann Bradford into the world on May 7th.  We are so happy for Austin & Stephanie and their amazing little beautiful blessing.  She is healthy and we loved being at the hospital and meeting her after she was born.
Ben is already the baby-whisperer... seriously.  He is GOOD with babies....  I can't wait to watch Wells and Caroline grow up together and be the best of friends.
At 27 weeks and 3 days pregnant, we had our glucose tolerance test (which I passed with flying colors- to the point that the lab tech told me to hurry up and eat something before I passed out on the floor because I process my sugars so quickly) and a 4D ultrasound.  We didn't realize that we would be doing that ultrasound then, but they recommended it before he got too big to see clearly.  It was absolutely amazing... I already knew that Wells was a very active little boy but seeing him move in real time was so cool.  We already think his face looks a lot like Ben and he had long skinny feet like me.  His smile already makes his mommy melt...
And his daddy loved his spunky attitude with a thumbs up and tongue out
At that point he was measuring 2 pounds 10 oz (approx)... about a week and a half big for his "age."
The next Monday I was 28 weeks and we took another belly picture (I had been putting a piece of white poster board behind me for the background but this week I realized I was outgrowing the poster board, haha).
Last week I caught the stomach bug for about 48 hours but thankfully it wasn't as bad as it could have been.  I was better in time for Memorial Day weekend at the beach with my family.  Saturday was almost a repeat of 3 years ago (blog post here) with a crawfish boil, broccoli salad, swimming, and fun with the family... only Rachel & Hollis weren't there and there were 2 more kiddos in the bunch!

It felt absolutely wonderful to swim and feel weightless in this pregnant body.  We had numerous delicious meals, I read the entire 2nd Hunger Games book, and we got a lot of relaxing accomplished.  :)
Today I am 30 weeks and 1 day pregnant and we had another Dr appt, more 4D pictures, and took a belly picture!
Little guy wasn't quite as cooperative this time for the ultrasound.  We quickly realized that he was pretty much kicking himself in the forehead and his legs, feet, arms, and legs were all blocking his beautiful face the majority of the time.  We still got to laugh watching his mannerisms and movements and ooh and ahh at how incredibly precious and miraculous he is.
Chubbster was weighing in at 4 pounds today... I know.... surely that's a typo.  We had her recheck everything and based off their measurements (tibia length, tummy size, and head size) he weighs in at 4 pounds which measures more like 33 weeks than the 30 that I am.  Ohhhhh Myyyy....
We have our 1st baby shower this weekend and I am so excited to see so many friends and celebrate Wells' upcoming arrival.  I am in complete disbelief that we are 3/4 way through and only have 10 weeks to go (if I make it that far)!  I started working full time at the beginning of May because our huge work event of the year is at the end of June to prepare for AND because I took over all of Stephanie's duties (Caroline's mommy & my friend & coworker) while she is on maternity leave.  It's not leaving much time to get many OTHER things done but I hope to feel somewhat finished with the nursery by mid-June and being so busy with work is making time FLY right by me.

Minus the quick stomach bug last week, and some serious Sciatic nerve pain that I have been going to Physical Therapy for the past couple of weeks to alleviate, I have continued to feel fantastic and am enjoying being pregnant.  Feeling Wells kick and move inside of me and watching the enjoyment on Ben's face about all things baby related is an absolute JOY.
