Island Life

This past weekend we headed down to Ben's beach house with our friends Austin & Steph. After hitting up our usual Mexican restuarant, Don Carlos, for dinner Friday night, we arrived pretty late but stayed up even later and had a fun time

Saturday was absolutely beautiful and we spent the day out on the boat, taking it to an island and swimming and playing all day long

What's Goin' On?

So not too much beyond the usual has been going on throughout the weeks so I haven't been blogging (othrwise, my free time would lend to LOTS more blogging). Since all happenings are pretty random (boring in paragraph form and not supported by many pictures) this post will be bullet style!

• I have had trouble with my ear for months now... I put off going to the doctor b/c I was nervous about having hearing loss... finally went and got it checked out, and YAY I have perfect hearing, I just had a piece of cotton pushed up on my eardrum that was blocking things... whew! what a relief

• The only thing my daddy wanted for father's day was an updated picture of his 3 girls... so finally, we all got together at Nat's house and momma took our pic (well, about a million of them)... this was the winner that we framed for him!

• My momma has a group of ladies that she plays BRIDGE with every week, and every summer they have a "Bridge overnight" where they play for 2 days straight while spending the night at someone's beach or bay house. This year it was at our beach house, and they had someone cancel at the last minute and she needed someone to fill in. Long story short, I was their fill in for 1 day (last Tuesday) b/c I was available and she was desperate. NO, I didn't have a clue how to play, but I quickly learned and honestly had such a good time! It's a very complicated game with lots of rules, but I'm so glad they helped me and I hope I get to play again!

• The day after playing bridge, Wednesday, I traveled to Montgomery for an interview and then turned around and drove back. It was definitely an exhausting day of 5.5 hours of constant driving and luckily I came home to a precious sweet husband who suprised me by cooking me "comfort food" chicken casserole and butter beans (my favorite!)... AND folded 2 loads of laundry which he NEVER does!

• That should be about it for now... sorry if this was boring and uninteresting, just filling in the blanks over the weeks I haven't been blogging about!

Playing Catch Up

Well, I don't really have an excuse, but I have really slacked in my blogging lately. This past week I have been shocked by the blogging scam, which has now gotten national attention, so I think I will be a bit more careful trusting stranger bloggers out there. But I'll move on now, since I do, after all, have a REAL life, and atleast put a name and a face behind my blog!

2 weekends ago Ben and I went up to the farm for the day to visit with his Grandparents while they were down visiting for the weekend. We had a great time with them:

Then this past weekend we went to the beach w/ my fam Friday night. Saturday Ben & the boys went fishing while the girls & I laid out by the pool. Saturday afternoon we headed back to Mobile for the wedding of our friends Cheryl & Wade:

We had a great time catching up with a whole bunch of friends that we hadn't seen in a long time or hadn't gotten to catch up with in a long time. We danced the night away and had a great time.

and I finally got to wear my new "fun shoes" (obviously I was very excited about them... I never buy "different" shoes, usually only boring BLACK) haha

and Ben's "dream" was fulfilled of doing the lifting the bride & groom up in a chair dance at a wedding (he said after seeing it in Wedding Crashers he always wanted to do that, and cheryl & wade were glad he got to help this night)!

and that about wraps up our past 2 weekends!! I finally got this posted just in time for this weekend to be upon us! I leave you with this friendly furry fellow that we found 2 of in our backyard this past week! Don't worry, we chased them out of the yard before Harper could get his hands/teeth on them!
