Wells' Baptism

On Sunday, December 23 Wells Robert Kennemer was baptized at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church.  The Christmas holidays may already be hectic, but it was so important to us that all of our family and closest friends were in town to be here for Wells' special day so we planned it for the Sunday before Christmas. I was surprisingly not stressed out and got all of my Christmas preparation done early so that I could devote the weekend to the Baptism and party.

We had his Baptism gown made just for him and I was absolutely in love with the way it turned out.  Yes, it's basically a dress for a boy but it's such a precious treasure that I plan for all of our children to wear and become a family heirloom

My dear friend from college, Caroline, came down from Birmingham to celebrate with us and was such a huge help to me getting everything together for the day.

Wells was perfect during the Baptism and then fell asleep in my arms for the rest of the church service

After the church service, and the pictures afterward, we all headed back to our house for lunch (pork tenderloin, rolls, salad, potato casserole)

After everyone left and we cleaned up we were exhausted and took an awesome nap :)

As your Mommy and Daddy, we know that our #1 job is to raise you in a Christian household to be a Godly man with morals, values, and an understanding of God's word and love for you.  We declared on this day that we would do just that and we pray that you grow closer to the Lord with each passing day and enhance your knowledge of Him as you grow older.  Always know that your family, our closest friends, and our church family are here for you along the way and also vowed this day to do all they can to support you and your Christian walk.  We love you so much.
