After 23 long and amazing years, my parents sold our family Beach House, Lazy Bones {cue crocodile tears}. They built this home on Ono Island in Orange Beach when I was only 6 years old and it has been the center of our family gatherings, summers, spring breaks, winter getaways, etc. ever since. This house wasn't just a house, it was so much more. Long story short, the house was getting older and needing more work, my parents just built a new country home that they are absolutely more in love with being at, and they felt it was just time to move on to new adventures. After the initial shock and sadness, we, the children, had to accept that it was happening and tell Lazy Bones goodbye. The last weekend of September 2013, everyone gathered at the house for one last hoorah!
Rachel and Hollis flew in town and we ate lunch before getting to the house.
Then once we got to the house we didn't leave

Mimi just so happened to be a week or two out of having knee replacement surgery and just went with the flow and handled the pain and mobility-issues like a champ!
It also just so happened to also be Emory's 3rd Birthday that weekend so we had a party!
complete with an Ariel wig and nearly inedible cake :)

I can't even describe how sad it is to realize this is the last time we would ever be at this house. Our memories will absolutely always stay with me and there are pictures a plenty over the last 23 years. But it's sad to know that Wells won't remember Lazy Bones and the rest of our summers will be spent at different places. The tears flowed like water (Yes it was as dramatic as I'm describing it. We're all girls. This was our life)...
There is a crazy and long story behind this because it was a joke turned reality, but we commemorated this momentous occasion with airbrush t-shirts for the entire family. One style for the men, one for the ladies, and one for the babies. And we all rocked these shirts when the weekend was over, our last day there, as we said goodbye.
