William & Brianne's Wedding

We got to Mattapoisett on Friday afternoon to start all of William & Brianne's wedding festivities!  The Rehearsal Dinner was Friday night and my first big time to leave Wells.  He was all set and off with my parents for dinner with my uncle who lives in the area.  They sent me pictures and updates throughout the night which made this Momma very happy!

This was the view from the Rehearsal Dinner location
Heavenly for this sweets obsessed new mommy
Dinner: New England staples: Lobster & Clam Chowder
We had a great time with friends and came back to the hotel to a sleeping baby boy!

Saturday mid-morning we headed to New Bedford for lunch and more sight seeing.  We ate at the Waterfront Grille and it ended up being probably our best meal the whole trip!  The setting was great in this little historical whaling village
The company was perfect and our server was awesome
The food was amazing.. probably the best calamari I've ever had
After lunch we shopped a little in the town and stopped by the Whaling Museum.
Everyone recommended going to the Whaling Museum but Wells obviously isn't old enough to enjoy it and we were running out of time so we just visited the gift shop and took some pictures!
Wells with Mimi & Doc
Wells wore his whale outfit to go to the whaling town :)
So we headed back to the hotel and got ready for the wedding.  Ben was in the wedding so he left a little bit before me and then once again, we left Wells with his amazing babysitters for a fun night of celebration!
The precious little church on the same bay
The new Barnes Family
After the ceremony we went to the family house for the reception.  We stayed at this same house last year during our sailing trip, but since then they did a complete overhaul on the landscaping to prepare for the wedding and I was blown away by it all!  Before there was simply grass.... no trees or flowers or anything..
I was the official friend photographer :)
Brent & Julie
Garrett & Holley
the boys with little William
waiting for the bride & groom to arrive by boat... these little boys couldn't be any more precious in their little matching outfits!
William IV & William V
First Dance
The boys: great friends since 3rd grade
Groom's Cake ;)
I've seen these lantern things on TV and it was awesome the see them all lit and floating away in person
Ben performed... on stage... with the microphone (how many weddings has he done this at now?)... to Sweet Home Alabama... and forgot some of the words....
he found a new favorite toy
Late night snack
Sending them off with Sparklers
Congratulations William & Brianne!  We love y'all very much and are so happy for your new married life together to begin!
Sunday morning it was time for us to return home.  Wells was the most incredible traveler we could have asked for.
It was during this trip that I realized how well he does and will sleep in his car seat.  The flights home involved a little bit more baby calming than the trip there, but we still didn't have any meltdowns or big crying fits (from him or me!) so that was a relief!
This trip will definitely go down in the memory books for this 6 week old and his parents & grandparents.

Wow, you were really, really close! John works about 1/4 of a mile from the Waterfront Grille and we only live about 1/2 a mile from Downtown, where the museum is! So strange seeing it in your pictures! :) Glad you had fun, the wedding looked beautiful!
