9 MONTHS OLD

I'm finally catching up to present day blogging instead of way overdue posts!  Wells just turned 9 months old and here's how his month went.
Sweet cousins
loves drumming his hands on the high chair tray
Ben & I had a function to go to and by the time it would be over it would be past Wells' bed time, so Mimi and Doc kept him overnight for the 1st time away from both of us! I got photographic evidence that he had an awesome time and went to sleep perfectly!
Weekend at the camp
Wrestling with big cousin Bennett
babies carrying babies
He finally learned how to use the bumpers to pull up from a laying down to sitting position...
... and standing up in the crib didn't take long to learn, so we immediately lowered the mattress
and this newfound freedom led to some funky sleeping positions
beautiful blue eyed boy

Ben signed me up for the Ronald McDonald House fundraiser called Little Black Dress- it's a fashion show with local women as the models- I was quite hesitant about it but ended up having such a fun time- hair and makeup done, walking the runway, and fun with friends while Wells got to hang out with his favorite babysitter Joslyn :)
still LOVES bath time
We enjoyed a beautiful Saturday as a music festival downtown
visiting Daddy at work
out for dinner at The Bull for my Dad/Doc's Birthday
A busy Saturday going to the Gumbo cookoff and hanging out with some friends on the Bay
at the DMV with Mommy
he quickly started pulling up on things and taking a few small knees forward to crawling
The last weekend of April is always the Mullet Toss down at the beach.  We have gone as a yearly tradition with friends 4 years in a row (except for last year when I was pregnant) and we decided to give it a go again this year!  We went down on Wednesday to enjoy lots of family time.
1st time on a boat, and wearing a life jacket (which he strongly disliked)
Tacky Jacks Bushwhackers and Mexican garbage... mmm
going to dinner on the boat
apparently the salt on the life jacket tasted very yummy
sunset at dinner at Cobalt
with Katie, Holley, and Brianne
Wells was ready to go home and go to bed!
Saturday our babysitter, Joslyn, came down to the beach house and kept Wells for a few hours while we went to lunch and the beach with friends
at the Florabama
We had a fun time with friends and with Wells at the beach and are looking forward to lots more weekends at the beach this summer!
sweet boy with his first toy with wheels- loves his bus
By the end of the month he was completely crawling all over the place and would NOT sit still.
~
Wells turned 9 months old on May 2nd and has changed SO much over the past month (mobility)
picture taking is much more difficult now
but I still have the same sweet subject
Age: 9 months old
Weight: 19 pounds 8 ounces  (40%)
Height:  29.5 inches (85%)
Head: 43.5 cm ( 20%)

Likes: banging 2 toys against each other, bath time splashing, toys with wheels, crawling and mobility, the walker
Dislikes: teething pain, being constipated (baby food seemed to cause it for a while), the swing (he hadn't used it in a while but I tried him in it and he is definitely too big for it now)
Eating: still breastfeeding every 4 hours (8am, 12, 4, 7:30pm).  Eats baby food 2 times a day (lunch & dinner) homemade or jarred (prune & pear juice for constipation)
Sleeping:  Goes to bed at 7:30pm and sleeps until 8am.  Naps around 10am and 2pm (1-2 hours each)
Diapers: Size 3 Pampers cruisers (no more swaddlers) & size 4 pampers nighttime diapers
Clothes: 9 & 12 month dressy clothes/bubbles and 12-18 month cotton/play clothes/pajamas

Other things to mention from this month:
  • Scoots on his bottom across the floor in a sitting up position several feet to a new destination (beginning of the month before he started to crawl)
  • Learned to pull himself from laying down in crib to sitting up position by himself
  • Quickly started standing in the crib so we lowered the crib mattress
  • New-found freedom and mobility in the crib caused a week or 2 of sleep deprivation
  • Started sleeping sitting up and falling forward on bumper while sitting up
  • 1st time eating dinner (baby food) at a restaurant (Olive Garden)
  • Bottom right tooth broke through (April 8) and bottom left (April 20)
  • Started throwing/dropping his paci out of crib so I now leave 3 or 4 in there so he can always find one
  • Gradually learned to crawl by first rocking back and forth on all fours, then moving hands forward and falling on tummy, then moving knees forward 1 or 2 steps (April 23), and finally 100% crawling across the room (April 29)
  • Talking/babbling more
  • At the beginning of the month if his daytime nap was rough or missed he would still nap in the evening, but by the end of the month he never takes an evening nap anymore
  • As soon as he learned to crawl he was immediately pulling up on everything and cruising the furniture and getting into everything (keeping me on my toes!)
  • Can stand and sit back down and stand without holding onto anything for a few seconds
  • At 9 month Dr appt we started using hydrocortisone for diaper rash and miralax for constipation
We love you so much little love muffin.
