Last night we decided we would FINALLY go and see Bellingrath Gardens 'Christmas in Lights'... it is said to be AMAZING! Well we have talked about going for YEARS but never have. So it was time to start a yearly tradition and Ben was ready to go last night... well, when we turned down the street where the entrance is there were cars lined up and backed up really far. Despite Ben's impatience, we waited through the car line and finally got to a parking spot. We then walked toward the entrance, and saw the nearly half mile long line of people waiting to pay $10 to get in. It was already like 6:30 and the line literally looked like it would take about 2 hours to go through... i mean, the line wasnt moving AT ALL! I knew Ben wasnt willing to wait that long, but I for once was just as impatient and decided that it wasnt worth it. So, moral of the story is... go see Bellingrath earlier in December.. NOT the night before Christmas eve, when everyone else does! Next year, maybe our tradition will finally begin! But to make up for it, the church next to the entrance to our neighborhood had a Live Nativity Scene, so we drove through that and it was really moving... so pretty and peaceful with christian christmas songs playing in the background...complete with REAL donkeys and sheep! so atleast we got to see SOMETHING! :)
