I almost titled this post "Farm Weekend" because that's exactly what it was, and I always title my posts what the post is about. I'm really working at some sort of creativity but it's just not coming to me in that area.
Ben and I had a fun time at the Farm again this weekend. We thought that the whole Kennemer family was going to be coming up, but it ended up just being Will and Amy for Friday night only. We made a big fire in the fireplace as much as possible because it was literally freezing. At home and at the farm, the water in the dogs water bowls outside were FROZEN! After such a hot "fall", warm thanksgiving and Christmas, i started to think it would never cool off, but it definitely has now!
We barely brought any food with us, thinking we would go to the grocery, but instead scraped by on the little bit we brought, cleaning out the freezer and pantry along the way. (still sticking to the low carb diet of course though!)
We went hunting both Saturday and Sunday evenings. We saw about 6 does both nights, but saw a 6 point buck Saturday night. It was the first time I had actually, clearly seen a buck in the field, but we decided to let him grow and get bigger for next year! Even though Ben says I'm too loud when we go hunting (looking at magazines, playing on my phone, resituating myself b/c my behind goes numb, etc), I still enjoy it and am glad he will still go with me (I have no desire to go hunting in the woods all by myself). The property is so beautiful at the Farm. Here is the view from one of the highest points:
We came home late Sunday night after our hunt rather than waiting for Monday morning. Ben is off work on Monday for Martin Luther King Day, so we plan on doing odds and ends and projects around the house all day! Since I'm not working, every day is really a "day off" for me, but I never sit around the house and watch TV all day (i promise). So, to spend the day with Ben and relax is the ultimate enjoyment!
.
At 5:30 tomorrow, I have a phone interview with a company that I would REALLY LOVE to work for. Please say a prayer that things go well. I know it's in God's hands, but I'm saying my prayers to him and really hoping this will finally work out! Thank you!
